Security Sector Management Short Courses

As part of our education programme we offer a range of Security Sector Management short courses. These courses address a broad range of complex issues for policymakers and practitioners working in the area of governance, development, national security, security sector-related issues, and conflict analysis.

The courses provides a unique opportunity to become more familiar with options to address the real operational challenges of the security-development debate. Held at the Cranfield University campus at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, they offer students the opportunity to spend time in a vibrant learning environment alongside students enrolled in Cranfield University's MSc in Security Sector Management. Most of the short course come with full Cranfield University accreditation equivalent to one post-graduate module.

The short course programme includes:

  • Managing Rule of Law and Access to Justice Projects - 6-8 October 2008 and 3-5 June 2009
  • Change Management and Leadership - 3-5 December 2008
  • Strategic Planning for Security and Development - 9-12 December 08 and May 09 (dates TBC)
  • Managing Security Sector Projects and Programmes - 10-13 March 2009
  • Managing Security Sector Resources - 9-12 June 2009
